Finding Rest in the Storm

Today's radio clip reflects on the biblical story of Jesus sleeping during a storm while His disciples, seasoned fishermen, were in distress. Despite their expertise, the disciples were unable to manage the situation and only woke Jesus when they were desperate. Like the disciples, we sometimes need to reach a point of desperation before we can move from our own efforts to find rest into the rest offered by God. Our human rest is often achieved through hard work, akin to the disciples bailing water from their boat, but this approach is insufficient for the challenges of today's world. Pastor Rob reminds us that we are living in a time of God's glory, where no one can boast of their own strength. God allows our "boats" to fill with water, with the waves continuously beating against them, teaching us to rely not on our strength but on His unwavering presence and peace.
