From Self-Reliance to Surrender

Pastor Zach looks at Jacob’s life as a picture of trying to manipulate circumstances, get by on his own skills, and maneuver things in his own wisdom and strength instead of God’s. From grabbing his brother’s heel to chasing the birthright and blessing, Jacob keeps trying to get on top, until God shows him that he has nothing to do with this, he needs to stop, and Jesus is our ladder who erases the gulf that was once impassable.
